Sales Manager

Lead from the front — close at a high level while building and developing a door-to-door solar team.

Shield Partners is scaling its in-house solar sales organization in the Phoenix metro, and we're looking for a sales manager to lead it — someone who closes at a high level and knows how to build, train, and motivate a team around them.

What you can earn. 1099, commission-only, uncapped, with two income streams — every deal you close personally, plus an override on the team you build. A producing manager earns $170k+, and because the override scales as you build closers under you, your income grows well beyond that as the team grows. Full structure covered in conversation.

What you’ll do. Two things, constantly. First, you close — you'll be in homes closing deals on a regular basis and carrying real personal production, and that doesn't stop as you grow. Second, you build and lead the team: recruiting setters and closers, running daily and weekly meetings, training your reps at the door and in the home, developing scripts, and keeping a commission-only team motivated and producing through the ups and downs. The team operates door-to-door, and you're out there with them — you set the standard by putting up numbers yourself, then teaching your people to do the same.

What it takes.

  • Proven sales-management experience — you've built and led producing teams, not just hit your own number
  • Strong personal closing ability in in-home or high-ticket sales
  • Comfortable and effective selling door-to-door, and able to teach it
  • Experience developing training, running team cadence, and motivating commission-only reps
  • Willingness to be in the field, leading by example — not from behind a desk
  • Based in the Phoenix metro; reliable transportation and a smartphone

What we provide.

  • Leads and an in-house organization to build and manage
  • Tools, CRM, and training infrastructure
  • Back-end support on every deal, so you can focus on selling and developing your people
  • Earnings that scale as your team's production grows

Location. Phoenix metro.

Questions to answer in the video
  1. Walk us through how you've actually trained and managed a sales team day-to-day. Get specific — daily meetings, training materials, ride-alongs, incentive programs, weekly cadence, whatever you've actually done. We want the texture of your management style.
  2. How do you keep a commission-only team motivated through a slump?
  3. What are you looking for in your next opportunity, and what would make this a clear win for you long-term?

Setter and Sales Manager are 1099 independent-contractor positions; Channel Partner is a business-to-business contract with the partner's LLC or corporation. All are commission-based and uncapped; the ranges shown reflect what active, producing reps typically earn and are not a guarantee of income. Actual earnings depend on individual performance, and new reps should expect a ramp period.
